Dr. Whitney Elsessor DNP, CNM, FMACP
Dr. Whitney Elsesser brings advanced clinical expertise and a steady, compassionate presence to every family at Birth Haven. As a Certified Nurse Midwife with a Doctor of Nursing Practice, she oversees clinical care and safety standards across the birth center, ensuring every family receives evidence-based, individualized care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Whitney is also the Founder of Holistic & Hormonal. and shares her functional medicine expertise, helping women uncover the root causes of hormonal imbalance. She is deeply committed to physiologic birth and to building a model of care where families feel informed, respected, and supported every step of the way.
Danette Siegel, doula and midwifery student
Danette Siegel leads the day-to-day operations that keep Birth Haven running smoothly—from scheduling and logistics to the systems that allow our clinical team to focus on what matters most: families. She is also the founder of A Mother is Born Doula Services, and she has walked alongside countless families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. As an experienced doula with extensive out-of-hospital birth experience, Danette brings firsthand insight into what families need and deserve, along with a deep commitment to preserving and expanding access to community birth and is rooted in the belief that birth belongs to families. Danette is currently working toward certification through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
Khadijah Cisse, Midwife

Khadijah Cisse brings more than 20 years of out-of-hospital birth experience and a calm, reassuring presence to every family she serves. She is also the founder of Midwife at Your Doorstep, where she continues to care for homebirth families throughout Massachusetts. Having attended more than 1,100 births across the United States and West Africa—including breech, twin, and premature deliveries—Khadijah offers a depth of experience grounded in physiologic birth and individualized care. She is passionate about protecting community birth, supporting informed choice, and creating an environment where families feel respected, empowered, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Khadijah brings that same commitment to autonomy and family-centered care to her role at Birth Haven. She is currently pursuing NHCM licensure in New Hampshire.
