Birth Haven's focus is birth center and midwifery care at our Salem, New Hampshire location. We want to be honest and clear: home birth is not a primary service that Birth Haven currently offers as part of its core practice.
We know some families arrive here specifically looking for home birth information. This page exists so you do not have to search for an answer. If home birth is what you are seeking, we want to help point you in the right direction rather than imply we provide something we do not.
One of our founders, Khadijah Cissé, operates a separate independent home birth practice. Birth Haven and that independent practice are not the same business, and home birth through that practice is separate from care at Birth Haven.

Home birth is a real, considered option for some families, and it deserves to be understood clearly even when it is not something Birth Haven provides directly. We respect every woman's right to learn about her options and make informed decisions about where and how she gives birth.
We also believe a practice should be honest about what it does and does not offer. Telling you clearly that home birth is not a primary Birth Haven service is part of respecting your time and your trust.
