Our birth rooms are designed to support movement, comfort, and physiological labor, including the option to labor and give birth in water when appropriate for you and your pregnancy.

Yes. You can receive personalized prenatal care with our midwifery team at Birth Haven even if you plan to give birth at a hospital. Some families want the longer visits, individualized attention, education, and shared decision-making of midwifery care while still choosing a hospital for delivery. We can support you throughout your pregnancy and help you prepare for the birth experience that feels right for you. Your hospital provider will want to assume care beginning by week 36 or pregnancy. If you develop a complication, care can transfer to the hospital at any time.

Yes. Birth Haven provides midwife-led birth center care in Salem, New Hampshire, and homebirth is also available separately depending on midwife availability. Families planning a homebirth can receive prenatal and postpartum care at Birth Haven. We can discuss your preferences, health history, location, and birth plans with you to help determine which option may be the best fit.
